Challenge: to supply a service that supports the brand
Toshiba, a world leader and innovator in pioneering high technology, expanded
its existing European relationship with arvato to the UK in 2008. The initial nonexclusive agreement was for arvato to distribute laptops to key retailers across
the UK.
In 2010, Toshiba decided to outsource its UK distribution infrastructure for
lap tops and other products such as camcorders, hard drives, carry cases, batteries
and USB memory sticks. Toshiba needed a flexible solution that would take into
account existing processes, guarantee a seamless transition and effectively manage
peaks in demand. Ultimately, Toshiba wanted to reduce its costs while maintaining
a high level of service.
