In order to offer our worldwide customers innovative solutions quickly and flexibly, we have organized Arvato into five units – the solution groups: CRM Solutions for the area of customer relationship management, SCM Solutions for supply chain management solutions, and the solution groups of Financial Solutions, IT Solutions and Digital Marketing. Our core markets are Germany, France, the UK, Spain, China and the US, with a further focus on the growth regions India, Poland and Turkey.
Chief Executive Officer
Fernando Carro has worked in various management positions at Bertelsmann since 1993 and has been a member of the Group Management Committee since 2012. Most recently, he served as President Latin America and Spain, in charge of Bertelsmann businesses on the Iberian Peninsula and the company's expansion in the South American growth markets.
In addition, he was responsible for Bertelsmann’s club and direct-marketing businesses since 2007 and from 2007 to 2011 was CEO of Bertelsmann’s former Direct Group division. After training as an industrial manager and studying industrial engineering at the Technische Universität in Karlsruhe, Carro initially worked as a sports journalist.
He joined Bertelsmann via the company's Corporate Junior Executive Program. Just one year after joining, Carro became Managing Director of the specialist information publisher Etrasa in Madrid, then in 1998 Managing Director of Heinrich Vogel Verlag in Munich. In 1999 Carro was appointed to the divisional Executive Board of Bertelsmann Springer, before moving to Barcelona two years later as Managing Director of Círculo de Lectores. He became a member of the divisional Board of Direct Group in 2005 and at the same time took over the operational management of the German Clubs as CEO. In July 2015 he became CEO of Arvato.
Chief Financial Officer
Rolf Hellermann has served as Head of Bertelsmann’s Corporate Controlling and Strategy department since 2012. In this role, he is a permanent guest on Bertelsmann’s Executive Board and Group Management Committee and on the Boards of RTL Group and Penguin Random House. Since last year, his area of responsibility has also included Corporate Business Development tasks, including the implementation of strategic Group initiatives.
After studying business administration in Vallendar, Los Angeles and Nancy, Hellermann completed his studies with a doctorate from the WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management. Immediately afterwards, in 2004 he joined Bertelsmann’s Corporate Controlling and Strategy department and in 2008 was appointed Vice President in charge of corporate controlling and investment controlling for Random House, Arvato and Direct Group. During his Bertelsmann career, Hellermann has also completed postings at RTL Group in Luxembourg and Gruner + Jahr in Hamburg. In July 2015 he became CFO of Arvato.
Chief Strategy Officer
Thomas Mackenbrock was appointed Chief Strategy Officer of Arvato in January 2017. Prior to that, he worked for Bertelsmann in several departments, roles and countries. In 2006, he began his Bertelsmann career in Corporate Development at the headquarters in Gütersloh. In 2008, he took over responsibility for the Business Development department. Starting in 2012, he built up the Corporate Center of the Bertelsmann Group in São Paulo as Managing Director Bertelsmann Brazil Investments (BBI). Most recently, he served as Executive Vice President Global Business Strategy at the music subsidiary BMG, where he was responsible for Brazil and China.
Before he joined Bertelsmann, Mackenbrock worked from 2000 to 2006 for McKinsey & Company in the fields high-tech, telecommunications and media.
Mackenbrock studied business and economics in Ingolstadt, Chicago and Leipzig and obtained his doctorate at the Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg. He is married and has two children.
Solution Group Management
Andreas Krohn has been the head of CRM Solutions at Arvato since December 2014. He was born in 1959 in Westerstede, Germany.
Krohn began his professional career at Arvato after studying business in London, Reutlingen and Fontainebleau as an assistant to the management of Mohn Media. After serving in further management positions, he switched to Arvato Services in 1995. From here on, he concentrated on the rapidly expanding airline business, which he used as the basis for expanding the company’s business with customers from the tourism industry over the following years. He also oversaw the development of Arvato’s service segment in Asia during the same time. Krohn was responsible for all of Arvato’s CRM activities in Germany in 2013 and 2014. In December 2014 he took over the company’s international CRM activities bundled under the CRM solution group.
In his new position, Krohn is strengthening his focus on the strategic realignment, international cooperation and digital transformation of Arvato’s global CRM business.
Krohn is married and has three children.

Frank Schirrmeister has been a member of the Arvato Executive Board since August 2014 and is head of the Arvato SCM solution group. He was born on April 29, 1965, in Herne, Germany.
After studying electrical engineering at the Rhineland-Westphalian Technical University (RWTH) in Aachen, he began his career as a senior adviser at the Arthur Andersen & Co. consultancy firm (now Accenture).
In 1994 Schirrmeister moved to Arvato, where he held management positions in Gütersloh and Versmold. In 1999 he was appointed vice president with responsibility for the global business operations of the Arvato client Microsoft. He has served as CEO of Arvato distribution GmbH since 2004.
Schirrmeister lives in Bielefeld with his wife and two children.
Frank Kebsch, CEO Arvato Financial Solutions has been working at different subsidiaries of Arvato Financial Solutions since 2000. He was born on September 15, 1965 in Dortmund.
He studied Economy at the Ruhr University in Bochum and started his career as a Key Account Manager at the Westfalenbank AG in Bochum. In 2000 he moved to the BFS finance GmbH, an Arvato Financial Solutions company, where he held successive management positions for the next years. From 2000 to 2001 he was Head of Credit Department at the BFS finance GmbH. Until 2005 he was the responsible Managing Director at the BFS risk management GmbH and the BFS risk & collection GmbH. In 2005 he was nominated to be the Managing Director and Head of Collection for the total group. Between February 2014 and Mai 2016 he has been the responsible CEO for the Region Central Europe at Arvato Financial Solutions. Kebsch has been CEO of Arvato Financial Solutions since June 2016.
As CEO of Arvato Systems Matthias Moeller is responsible for Arvato’s Solution Group IT.
After studying computer science and business administration, he joined Bertelsmann Arvato in 1995 where he has held various roles.
He has been a part of the senior management team for IT Services since 2003. In 2012 Matthias Moeller was appointed Managing Director of Arvato Systems perdata GmbH with responsibility for IT Solutions and Services in the Utilities market unit.
On 1st April 2016, he additionally took on the role of CEO of the Arvato Systems Group.
Managing Director, Arvato SCM Ireland
Patrick is Managing Director of Arvato SCM Ireland and has held the role since 2004. He joined Bertelsmann in 1994 and gained significant experience during the start-up of the Irish operation in 1994 and subsequent years. This start-up was Arvato’s first venture into the Irish landscape and was a response by Bertelsmann to the level of high-tech customer presence by multi-national corporations in the Irish market.
Patrick transformed the Irish operation from a small single site 2 CD-Line manufacturing facility to a fully integrated end-to-end supply chain operation servicing the software and hardware sectors and more recently BPO services. Under his leadership Arvato has continued to win supply contracts and expand offerings to many prestigious blue chip IT/high-tech customers.
With a strong technical and managerial background Patrick uses his knowledge and understanding of the high-tech industry to ensure his team are constantly to the forefront in the acquisition and support of new global clients.
CEO, CRM & Public Sector, Arvato UK & Ireland
Debra is responsible for Arvato’s customer relationship management (CRM) and public sector business in the UK and Ireland, overseeing the negotiation and implementation of complex public and private partnerships and driving new BPO growth areas, including central government, public healthcare and beyond. As part of her role Debra will direct the strategy for Arvato’s contract to operate the first Independent Shared Service Centre (ISSC1) on behalf of the UK Government.
Debra has a wealth of expertise and experience in private and public sector outsourcing across senior strategic and operational roles. Prior to her current position as MD, Debra was Global BPO Director for Arvato, leading the company’s global BPO partnership with Microsoft. The role included overseeing teams in the USA, Ireland, Mexico, Singapore and Manila and establishing a new managed service model for Microsoft. This partnership gained international recognition by winning ‘BPO Project of the Year’ at the 2012 European Outsourcing Association (EOA) Awards. Previous roles within Arvato have included General Manager Ireland and Global Operations Director at Arvato Finance Services.
Prior to joining Arvato, Debra worked as Director of Shared Services at Surrey County Council, where she led the implementation and delivery of Shared Services for the council.
Debra lives in Cheltenham and enjoys fine wine and contemplation.
Country Manager Ireland
Patrick Quinn, current Country Manager of Arvato Global F&A Ireland & CIO, has been a key part of Arvato since he joined the company more than four years ago. With many years of financial services experience and a background in computing science, program management and financial services among other areas, he is responsible for an organisation of 800+ employees in Ireland and supports various global high-tech companies worldwide.
