Arvato Presents Multitude of Solutions In Berlin during the German Logisitcs Congress
Gütersloh. “impulses, ideas, innovation” – the theme of the 30th German Logistics Congress in Berlin is also the focus at Arvato. From Oct 23 to 25, 2013, the Gütersloh-based BPO (business process outsourcing) specialist will be presenting new solutions in the areas of e-commerce, high-tech, IT, transportation and corporate information management in the Arvato Sports Lounge (Pavillon Terrasse Ost / East Terrace Pavilion, Intercontinental Hotel).
Revenues aren’t the only parameter on a steady rise in e-commerce: as the volume of goods ordered increases, so does the number of returns. Especially in Germany, where free shipping on returns is the norm, the profitability of online sales depends quite crucially on the efficiency of returns management. Arvato E-Commerce has developed solutions in this area that help e-tailers to reduce their return costs. The latest example: to render returned goods saleable and shippable again as quickly as possible, Arvato has developed optimized, integrative processes that allows returns to be directly picked and packed for new orders again – after the goods have been inspected – without having to be returned to storage first.
Arvato Transport also has innovations to announce. The transportation management system artis – which to date has been offered as part of a comprehensive transportation solution that includes operational services such as transport procurement, management and billing – is now additionally offered as “software as a service.” This gives companies the option of using the system without a license, and instead paying a smaller amount per shipment – an alternative that is particularly beneficial for small and medium-size enterprises (SMEs), as it saves them the cost of linking their IT infrastructure and of system maintenance. The application is web- based, so companies can access it online from anywhere.
artis also helps companies avoid double taxation under the new Regulation on Entry Certification, which is in force as of October. The system helps users to produce the required entry certifications for international shipments within the EU and to archive them long-term. Without this documentation, the tax authorities can later demand the VAT for the country from which the goods were shipped.
Arvato Systems is presenting bespoke, industry-specific and individually developed solutions in Berlin. As an SAP Preferred Partner in the “Road” category, the systems integrator has already carried out more than ten projects, and is now expanding its portfolio to include supply chain execution. The further integration process will focus particularly on transport, storage and event management, to give customers one-stop logistical expertise. In addition, Arvato Systems not only plans to more closely interlink logistics and production in its supply chain execution, but also to integrate the financial supply chain along the executing supply chain.
Meanwhile, Arvato Hightech delivers a solution that integrates all after-sales offers and services into a single process. The completely transparent, multipurpose new “eCare Toolz” IT platform simultaneously helps to generate revenues, reduce costs and increase customer satisfaction. The new platform also solves the difficult challenge of minimizing return shipments and the associated logistical costs.
As the market leader in marketing and advertising material logistics and procurement, Arvato Corporate Information Management (CIM) specializes in creating physical and digital information and goods for companies and distributing them. CIM provides all services across the marketing supply chain – from procurement to printing and digitization, through to picking/packing and distribution. In Berlin, it presents the latest solutions for the banking and insurance, telecommunications, and automotive industries. In the automobile sector, the focus is currently on “Connected Car” solutions. Experts estimate that by 2016, 210 million vehicles will be connected with each other. More and more companies are therefore relying on strategic partners to monetize people’s willingness to pay. In Berlin, Arvato CIM explains what factors determine success, how to use integrated IT and logistics processes to link all distribution channels, and the importance of logistics, repair shops, dealers, customer service, marketing and financial services for a successful business model.
