Arvato Spain grows, bucking difficult economy
The economic and financial crisis has had a severe impact on Spain’s economic development. To counter the decline in business, many companies are looking for ways to mitigate the repercussions of the crisis. Many are reorganising or starting to outsource processes that aren’t part of their core business. As a provider of outsourcing services, Arvato benefits from this.
The economy in Spain is shrinking, but for the outsourcing provider Arvato, this means that numerous companies turn to it as they go through uncertain times. Arvato has fully 40 years of experience in the Spanish market. Arvato Spain’s business results for 2011 show that the company benefits from the crisis. At €169 million, Arvato Spain’s revenues for 2011 were 28 percent above the prior year’s. At the same time, its workforce in Spain grew by 25 percent to 7,000 employees.
One important reason for Arvato’s success in Spain is the integration of various lines of business in the five different outsourcing services offered by Arvato Spain: data mining and business intelligence, information services and complaints management (Customer Services) as well as logistics, printing and financial services. Its customer portfolio in Spain includes telecommunications companies as well as companies in the energy and food industries.
Since the beginning of the crisis, other industries have turned into Arvato customers. The banking industry in particular has developed into an important client for Arvato in Spain. The company is also seeing new opportunities in Spain’s public sector. For example, the public authorities in Spain are increasingly turning to experts for consultation.
