Arvato turns to Turkey, market of the future
Arvato has opened its first head office in Turkey in Istanbul, with the support of Bertelsmann’s Corporate Center. After its service units there have already spent seven years mostly providing services to clients in other countries, Arvato now aims to become more active in the Turkish market itself. Its kick-off event "TurKey for Growth – TurKey for Success" was attended by 120 potential Turkish business partners as well as numerous representatives from Bertelsmann companies.
The new offices in Istanbul’s Trump Tower will not only support Arvato’s business activities, but will also be available to other interested Bertelsmann companies, such as the G+J subsidiary Ligatus, which will initially manage its fledgling Turkey business from the new Arvato premises.
Arvato Turkey CEO Oktay Erciyaz, who is also Senior Vice President, Corporate Business Development at Bertelsmann, explains the potential of the Turkish market: "Besides the proximity to our core Western European markets and the opportunities for using Turkey as a base for further activities in the Middle East, Asia and Africa, there are a number of other important reasons for the attractiveness of this market. First there is the structure of the economy itself. It is broad based, Turkish manufacturing companies have transformed themselves from a supplier industry into creative and in some cases internationally successful brand-name manufacturers, and the demand for outsourcing services – which is very interesting for Arvato – is rising.”
