Arvato Entertainment Happy with Tradeshow Results
Cologne’s gamescom ended last Sunday after five eventful tradeshow days. More than 635 exhibitors from 40 countries presented over 400 world, European, and German premieres to visitors and major retailers from around the world. This year’s highlights at the world’s biggest industry showcase for interactive games and entertainment included the unveiling of Sony’s PlayStation 4 and Microsoft’s Xbox: worldwide, the Cologne tradeshow was the first place consumers were allowed to try them out. The turnout was accordingly huge, as more than 340,000 visitors, nearly 30,000 of them trade visitors, from 88 countries, turned the city’s exhibition halls into the world’s largest interactive playground.
Arvato Entertainment took the trade fair as an opportunity to present its integrated portfolio of services for companies in the gaming industry, to network with existing partners in the industry, and to follow up on new leads. Sven Deutschmann, sales manager and co-CEO of Arvato Entertainment, is thoroughly satisfied with the results of the tradeshow: “gamescom 2013 in Cologne was a complete success for us. The many visitors from the trade were very interested in Arvato Entertainment’s diverse range and were able to see for themselves then and there that, as a service provider, we are optimally prepared for the new generation of Microsoft’s Xbox One console. Talks tended to revolve around FidelisPay, the payment system we’ve developed that lets providers of MMO, social and skill games to generate new revenue streams.” Another hot topic among the tradeshow visitors in Cologne, according to Deutschmann, were products that turn gaming into a 360-degree experience, such as 3D applications/programs or innovative sound solutions for gamers such Proximity by IOSONO, which the innovative vendor of surround-sound systems for movie theaters, entertainment and other events presented at the Arvato Entertainment stand.
