Packaging solutions from topac for the vinyl renaissance
Twenty years ago, everyone was sure that good old records were a thing of the past. Today, however, audio publishers are releasing an increasing number of new albums as vinyl editions. The media has dubbed this current retro-trend the “vinyl renaissance.” Although limited to a niche market, it is nonetheless necessitating adjustments on many levels, such as packaging of the new records.
topac, the specialist for print products and cardboard packaging at Arvato, has geared up for increased production capacity in this area. According to Susanne Klose, Director of Sales and Marketing, there are even first editions of up to 60,000 units. topac is happy to fill the numerous requests it receives for complex, customized packaging solutions. One example is the production of the vinyl and CD packaging for Paul Kalkbrenner’s album Guten Tag. topac developed a customized solution in the form of a double album with an additional flap and magnetic closure. The distinctive packaging is made from dyed-through black cardboard with special touches such as embossing.
