It is one of the world’s top-selling books, and it has been one of Mohn Media’s biggest color book orders for many years – the Guinness Book of Records itself is therefore also something of a record breaker. For sixty years now, the book has told its worldwide readership about incredible achievements, bizarre all-time high scores and impressive records.
The respective print order is as gigantic as its contents. Over the past few weeks, our colleagues at Mohn Media have produced a total of 2.7 million copies of the 2015 edition of the »Guinness Book of World Records«, as it is now officially called, to the full satisfaction of the customer.
Published in 25 languages, it was printed on a total of 2,900 tons of paper; 811 tons of grayboard were laminated with 677,000 m² of foil. The finished books were then stacked on 5,500 pallets and loaded onto 250 trucks and shipping containers. By now, these will be making their way around the world to ensure that the books are available on the booksellers’ shelves on time for 12 September, the book’s global publication date.
