Sony Music Relies On Arvato Entertainment’s Archive Services
The new contract expands the two companies’ long-standing cooperation in the archiving and provision of original tapes into a cross-service 360 degree solution for safeguarding, processing and physically and digitally distributing content – services that Arvato Entertainment also delivers for other entertainment companies as well as for public institutions. At this point, the Arvato subsidiary already handles the archiving of several country archives as well as tapes and masters of titles produced by Arvato Entertainment for Sony Music. These include the former European Sony Music archive as well as local archives from Germany, France, Greece and Italy. Sony Music is now planning to consolidate its European assets in the Arvato Services integrated archive solution.
"Arvato Entertainment has the know-how, capacity and technical resources to ensure the long-term preservation of the content and therefore the possibility of exploiting our assets for the different value chains," explains Gerhard Blum, Senior Vice President, Distribution and Supply Chain International at Sony Music Entertainment.
