Arvato turns Siemens’ sophisticated product portfolio into an interactive experience
Gütersloh: In collaboration with Siemens AG, the Corporate Information Management (CIM) division at Arvato SCM Solutions is setting new benchmarks for the preparation and processing of technical information. Many products in the Siemens range require explanation. As part of a joint project in recent few months, a diverse range of detailed information from various sources was compiled to enable Siemens AG customers to discover these kinds of products intuitively. This gives Siemens’ Building Technologies division a decisive advantage in targeting new customers.
"We wanted our portfolio of around 200 different valves and actuators from the Acvatix series to be presented in a less technical and more sales-oriented and interactive way," explains Dr. Carsten Liesener, Head of Fire Safety Systems & Products, Siemens Switzerland. With this requirement in mind, a team of experts from both companies developed an interactive online showcase that explains the products clearly and comprehensibly.
This work generated so much enthusiasm at Siemens that the organizers decided to integrate additional languages and implement the application globally. The national managers are very pleased with this ultramodern and transparent further development, not only because it also helps make the extensive product information understandable to new customers. In addition to the app initially developed for the ISH trade fair in Frankfurt, the product guide is now available in nine languages on the Siemens website thanks to media-independent programming.
"In our experience, companies often face major challenges when they want to publish consistent data from existing IT systems across multiple channels and languages using a state-of-the-art format. We are delighted to have teamed up with Siemens and found such an innovative and profitable approach,” says Boris Scholz, Managing Director Corporate Information Management – Arvato SCM Solutions.
