The international media service provider Sonopress is further expanding its French plant in Forbach, exactly five years after setting up the plant. The plant’s central location in Europe and closeness to Sonopress’ other sites were ideal preconditions for the successful development of its modern production operations.
Production at the plant was expanded last year too, with employee numbers increasing to 160. The production volume bucked the market trend by continuing to grow. This year the plant is going to be extended by another 1,800 m², with its in-house printing works and logistics operations both scheduled for further expansion. Around 300,000 CDs per day will then be manufactured in Forbach. This represents an annual capacity of some 70 million units. “This extension will open up new possibilities for us to expand our French business still further”, explains Sven Deutschmann, Sonopress CEO Western Europe. The course of business was influenced positively by the plant’s intensified cooperation with the other sites in the European combine and its exemplary punctuality of delivery and order handing record.
In Europe, Sonopress operates production facilities in Gütersloh, Ireland, Spain and France and a fulfillment center in the UK. Globally, the company operates plants in the USA, Mexico, Brazil, Australia, China, Hong Kong, Singapore and South Africa. Another plant will shortly be going into operation in Russia.
