Arvato Systems Takes On Full IT Service Contract
Arvato Systems will take charge of full IT services for Rheinmetall AG and its Automotive and Defence sectors as of 1 July 2014. This will support the continued growth of the Gütersloh-based systems integrator. The transaction requires the approval of the Bundeskartellamt, an independent competition authority in Germany.
“We are certain that the IT service provider Arvato Systems is the right partner for us. We are looking forward to working with them,” says Helmut P. Merch, Member of the Executive Board, Finance, Controlling, and IT at Rheinmetall AG. “Arvato Systems impressed us with its many years of experience and expertise,” adds Markus Bentele, CIO at Rheinmetall. “This is the ideal foundation for the challenges we will face in the years to come.”
Arvato Systems will take charge of the IT services for Rheinmetall in two phases. The main task within the future cooperation will be to support the application landscapes and infrastructures. In doing so, special focus will be given to the key issues surrounding IT security. Arvato Systems has many years of experience to offer in ‘high security’ and will further develop its competence in this area with Rheinmetall.
“I am very pleased that Rheinmetall has chosen Arvato. It underscores once again our expertise in IT services, which is built on decades of experience. This step is clearly in line with our strategy and will support Arvato’s continued growth,” says Achim Berg, CEO of Arvato.
Michael Pesch, Chairman of the Board of Arvato Systems, adds: “We have acquired Rheinmetall, an internationally successful publicly-listed company, as a new customer and are entering into a long-term partnership. Our team of experts was able to win over the company and I am looking forward to the next steps in our cooperation.”
